Ebac was founded in the UK in 1972 and are established market leaders in domestic dehumidifier commercial watercooler technology.
Chairman and founder John Elliott MBE DL, was born near Bishop Auckland in 1943. A draftsman by trade, John entered into self-employment in the early 70s and won a contract to produce industrial dehumidifiers for a national construction group. The dehumidifier order led to Ebac's foundation, with John as its only member of staff, back in 1973. His dedication and drive soon saw it grow and seven years later it reached its first £1M turn-over. One year later, in 1980, John developed the UK's first mass-produced domestic dehumidifier, which effectively created the British market for this product type, and the company blossomed. Over 1,000,000 households in the UK now benefit from using an Ebac dehumidifier on a daily basis.
With innovation and dedication to quality as its lead words, Ebac continued to expand it's facilities in the UK's North East. John's part in this success was formally recognised in 1986 when he was awarded an MBE for Services to Small Business.
In 1994 Ebac branched into the commercial watercooler industry. Intensive market research and commitment to customer satisfaction, has driven a continual development of products, at the forefront of watercooler technology. We pride ourselves on four main areas - Quality, Innovation, Technology and Customer service. Ebac is a British success story, beating competition from around the globe to secure our current position as Europe's leading watercooler manufacturer. If you have ever used a watercooler at work or in a hospital or the gym, there is a very good chance that it was made by Ebac.

Ebac have been making high quality domestic appliance for nearly 30 years. Over 2.4 million people in the UK rely on an Ebac dehumidifier to protect their homes from damp and condensation. Over 40% of the bottled watercoolers sold in Western Europe are manufactured by Ebac.
Both dehumidifiers and watercoolers use exactly the same technology as a fridge; so it was entirely logical for Ebac to extend this expertise and develop a range of domestic refrigeration appliances. With virtually every household in the UK owning a fridge and over 3.5 million sold every year, we see this as a great opportunity for even more people to experience an Ebac product.
Ebac is a British brand who thrives on new challenges. We have built our business by developing products that compete successfully against those from huge global corporations. However, the real driving force for developing this new range was because Ebac wanted to make a "better fridge".

Rather than telling you about all of the good things that Ebac do, perhaps a better way to understand our philosophy is to list a few that we don’t do.
Ebac refuse to compromise on the quality of our products and services to save a few pennies. We would rather spend a few more, if doing so enhances our customer's experience.
Ebac don't make false claims and promises about our products. We simply make good honest products that do the job well and continue to do so for many years.
Ebac will never forget that ultimately our customers are all that really matters. We don't have overseas customer contact centres and all of our advisors are fully trained. Therefore, if you have a question about an Ebac product, you get to talk with someone who really understands, both you and the product.
Ebac has never stopped looking forward, for ways to improve our products and customer services. However, we have not become complacent as we have expanded and continue to keep doing all of the things that made us successful in the first place.
In the words of our Chairman and founder, John Elliott, "Our business is really quite simple – we just make good products and we look after our customers – it's not rocket science."
